I am proud to announce my candidacy for Public Defender in the 3rd Judicial District (Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, and Hawkins Counties). I will appear on the May 2022 ballot in the Republican Primary.

I am running for Public Defender because I believe in public service. I served our country in a Marine infantry unit for 4 years. After several years in private business, I felt the need to continue my service to the community – this time as an attorney.  Since 2014, I have had the honor of representing you as an Assistant Public Defender. Since my appointment as Assistant Public Defender, I have demonstrated the initiative, work ethic, and competency to earn the trust of the Public Defender and have tried the most difficult jury trial cases assigned to our office. I’m ready to use my experience to manage the duties and responsibilities of the office.

The Public Defender’s Office plays a critical role in our Judicial system.  I see two vitally important roles I would like to focus a great deal of my attention on:

  • Reducing Recidivism Rates: I would like to expand our efforts to craft the best after-care plans – plans to connect those the office serves to outreach programs, substance abuse counseling and therapy and second chance employers that can reduce the recidivism rate in our criminal justice system and provide a safer, more productive citizenry and workforce in our communities.

  • Protecting Our Constitutional Rights: The Public Defender’s Office serves on the front lines of protecting our rights. I will continually advocate for your rights in the justice system.

I would be honored to serve as your Public Defender, and deliver on these issues, but I need your support.  Can I count on your support in the May Republican Primary? If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail any time.
